The Rescue Project

50 old paintings. One year of second chances.

I'm going back through more than a decade of unfinished and abandoned paintings, finishing them one at a time and sharing the story behind each one.

Hi, I’m Emily.

I’ve been teaching paint-and-sip classes for more than a decade, and in 2019 I started Evolve Paint & Sip. Along the way, I’ve accumulated hundreds of paintings — class demos, experiments, unfinished ideas, and plenty that I simply walked away from.

Emily Prahl Art is where I’m coming back to that work. I’ve chosen 50 paintings to revisit, finish, experiment with, and share one at a time.

Introduction video coming soon — a quick hello before the first rescue drops.

Waiting to be rescued

Some were unfinished. Some were abandoned. Some just needed more time. Now they’re getting another chance.

Art Show

After the final rescue, the collection comes together in Westcliffe, Colorado for my first art show. Many of the originals will be available to purchase.

the one I’m saving for last

Pura Vida

One of my favorite paintings I’ve ever made — and the piece that inspired the colors behind the Emily Prahl Art logo.

I’m saving this one for Rescue #50, the final painting in the series. It feels fitting to end with a piece that already means so much to me and see what one last rescue can become.
